Papp Laszlo Sportarena - History and general information

The main venue for large indoor sporting events, the Budapest coliseum (Körcsarnok) was destroyed in a devastating fire at the end of 1999; a new sport complex was built in its place – the Budapest Sportaréna was opened to the public in the spring of 2003. The arena was named after Lászlo Papp, the legendary Hungarian boxing star a year after, in the spring of 2004. The modern building offers outstanding facilities and services, unique in the Central European region, and welcomes sporting games and shows, concerts, exhibitions, fairs and other similar events.
The Papp László Budapest Sportaréna has been operated by the TriGranit Group since the spring of 2006, offering several up-to-dateservices: online ticket order is available and the Sky VIP Club offers guaranteed group ticket reservations, courier ticket deliveries, a separate entrance and cloakroom for special guests, free parking places, PR and advertising tables, as well as the use of section rooms and the unique Sky Restaurant & Bar. The bar and restaurant are located on the upper floor of the building, and welcome guests since 2008, offering them a view of what happens in the event room while remaining undetected.
